Update - March 2008

Hi everyone (completed/ committed/ potential/ maybe interested stars and Family Care Project 40 supporters!)

re: Project 40: raising £40 000 for Family Care by the end of 2008

WOW!!!!!

As we approach the end of the first quarter of 2008 (yes - already!), this is an overview update to thank you all so very much for everything that you are doing to make Project 40 such a success. Without yourselves, it would not be happening so thank you from the bottom of my heart....

Progress headlines:

We have 28 people/ families/ organisations committed to raising or donating a star of £1000 - so 12 to go (please keep spreading the word - we do need support to secure the remaining star commitments)

£8 859.44 has been raised to date

lots of different activities are taking place to raise funds - additions since the last update include a team Yorkshire 3 Peaks ramble, a 16 bridge / 16 mile London walk and 10 half marathons in a year!! I am hoping to share further details of star activities via the website over the coming few weeks

Justgiving charity donation website

A Justgiving page has been set up for Project 40 so feel free to use this if it helps. Alternatively, a few people have set up their own Justgiving page to track their target £1000 star - make sure you use Family Care Nottingham from the Justgiving charity list! Please let me know if you do this and I can make sure that everything you raise is recognised in the overall Project 40 progress.

PR/ Marketing

One of the longer lasting legacies of Project 40 that we can all help with is a raised awareness of all the great work that Family Care do. Please use every PR opportunity that you can - Jackie Worthington at Family Care is very happy to help people with press releases so do get in touch with Jackie if you want support with this or similar. Jackie can be contacted on 0115 960 3010 or email: jackie.worthington@familycare-nottingham.org.uk

Please take photos/ film recordings of your fundraising activities - we want to compile a visual record of all your efforts - DON'T BE SHY!!!

I also have been given several Family Care T shirts so 'first come, first served' if you would like to wear these during your fundraising efforts

We are meeting with the Nottingham Evening Post after Easter so watch this space!

If you want to get updates on the website and/ or you want to get your company listed on the sponsors page (with a link etc) then please email Adrian Colquhoun directly:adrian@adriancolquhoun.com

The Ball!

The date and venue is confirmed! The place to be on Saturday 31st January 2009 will be the Family Care Fundraising Ball at the Nottingham Belfry.

Jules Oakes and myself have been working together on this. If you know of anyone who might be interested in sponsoring the Ball eg drinks reception, entertainment or donating raffle prizes then please get in touch with Jules or myself. We are pleased to confirm that someone has already very kindly volunteered to sponsor the table decorations. More details will follow in the next few months and we will be giving priority table booking to all you stars. It is going to be a fantastic celebration evening.....

Finally, I would also like to thank everyone for your support (encouragement and/ or financial!) to my own personal star efforts. I am on Day 25 of 40 days no alcohol/ caffeine/ chocolate and am embarrassed to confess that I am feeling rather good for it!!

THANK YOU so very much again - you are all stars!!!

Keep in touch!

Katie
