Update - November 2008

Dear all

Thank you so much - as we move towards November, I can confirm that Project 40 has raised/ been pledged £37 059 to date! Brilliant!

With a couple of late stars (my husband and two of my oldest, dearest friends appear to be competing as to who is going to be last...!), we look set to reach the target by the end of 2008 and possibly head towards raising c £45 000. Wow!

This money is massively significant to Family Care. To give you a feel for the scope of what it can support - it has the potential to help an additional 65 children with bereavement support or c 80 children with life story work to help them understand why they were adopted.

To quote one service user:

"the staff at Family Care have been absolutely wonderful to both me and my family. It is an organisation that helps people in their darkest hours, particularly hurt, broken-hearted children. Through skill, dedication and kindness, they help put children back together. I will be forever grateful for how you have helped my children to come to terms with the loss of their beloved dad"

In every case, funds will allow many children to receive help that they might not otherwise have got and give them confidence and strength to deal with tough times. Without this, they might not always be able to cope with everything that has happened to them. The current climate is only likely to increase the demands for support in areas such as domestic violence as some families struggle to cope. You are the people that are making this support possible...

**** So.... please can I ask you to forward any outstanding star monies to Chris Burton at Family Care or myself for forwarding on. Some people used Justgiving sites which then only require any offline donations to be collected. It would be great if we could now pull this all together ****

I will endeavour to get in touch with individuals to follow up as relevant but this might take some time over the next couple of weeks.

In the meantime, it just leaves me to thank you once again - I know that I keep saying it but you are the ones that are making it happen.

Best wishes and thank you....

Katie
